Asoly lives in the macOS menu bar. One measurement per keyword per day, stored on your own Mac.

You can see exactly how your app performs once somebody has opened the product page. What you cannot see is the step before that: whether you appear at all when somebody searches your core term, and how that changed after your last metadata update. Asoly fills that gap with the smallest possible machinery — a menu bar app, a local database, no account and no server.

Principles of High-ROI Indie ASO

Menu bar app

Built like a Mac app

Native Swift for Apple Silicon and Intel, a menu bar item with the day’s largest moves, notifications through macOS, and a window you only open when you want it.

115 storefronts

Every storefront that matters to you

All 115 App Store storefronts, several per app, filtered and sorted on every value: rank, difficulty, popularity estimate, word count, source.

No server involved

Insights from your own data

Quick wins at ranks 11 to 30, keywords missing from your title and subtitle, markets with no keywords yet, and week-over-week momentum. All computed locally from what you already track.

Search is the channel you can still afford

Paid acquisition for a one-person app rarely works out: the budgets you compete against are not budgets you have. Organic search is the channel where a precise, well-named app can still beat a well-funded one, because relevance is part of how the store ranks results.

Holding a position for a specific phrase is worth defending, and defending something means measuring it. One number a day per keyword is enough to see a trend; no number at all is what most solo developers currently have.

Asoly reads the store’s own search results without personalisation, keeps the top 250 per keyword and storefront, and treats anything past rank 100 as uncertain, because the store’s own tail moves on its own.

The quiet morning check

Asoly runs once a day while your Mac is on. If the Mac was asleep, it runs the missed check when it wakes.

If nothing crossed a threshold, you hear nothing. If a keyword moved into the top 10, lost five places inside the top 50, fell out of the top 100 or ranked for the first time, you get one macOS notification and it is logged in the app.

That is the whole loop. It costs you no daily decision, and after a month you have the one thing a manual search never gives you: a line instead of a number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I track iPad or Mac app rankings?

Not yet. Asoly tracks iPhone search results only. iPad and Mac results differ, and showing iPhone numbers under an iPad label would be wrong, so they are simply not offered.

How do multiple countries work?

You pick the storefronts you care about per app, out of all 115. Asoly asks each one directly, so there is no VPN or proxy involved, and the keyword table can be filtered down to a single market.

What happens when my Mac is off?

Nothing is measured. Asoly catches up on the next wake and leaves the missed days visible as gaps in the chart instead of filling them in. Tracking that continues without your Mac would need a server, and that is on the roadmap, not in the app.

Stop checking the store by hand

Asoly is out. Download it directly from getasoly.com, no account needed. The free tier covers one app and five keywords and stays free; it needs macOS 15.0 or later.
