Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Asoly macOS application and the website getasoly.com. Asoly is a local-first App Store Optimization (ASO) tool sold directly from getasoly.com. Asoly Pro is sold through Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Last updated 22 September 2026.

1. Provider and scope

The software and this website are provided by:

Asoly is distributed directly from getasoly.com. It is not available through the Mac App Store, and no Apple terms or Apple end user licence agreement apply to it. By downloading, installing or using Asoly, you agree to these Terms. If you use Asoly on behalf of a company or another legal entity, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that entity.

2. Who you contract with: Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record

Asoly Pro is sold by Lemon Squeezy. Checkout and billing run through Lemon Squeezy, LLC (Delaware, USA), which acts as the merchant of record. The purchase contract for the Asoly Pro subscription is therefore concluded between you and Lemon Squeezy, not with Dennis Bär.

Practically, this means Lemon Squeezy:

• takes the payment and stores your payment method;
• calculates, collects and remits VAT and sales tax worldwide, according to where you are;
• issues the invoice or receipt;
• runs the customer portal in which you manage or cancel the subscription;
• processes refunds and is the addressee of a withdrawal.

Lemon Squeezy's own terms apply to that purchase in addition to these Terms. Where they conflict on payment, tax, invoicing or refunds, Lemon Squeezy's terms govern, because Lemon Squeezy is your seller for those matters.

What remains with us. Dennis Bär develops Asoly, holds the rights to it and grants you the licence described in section 9. Everything these Terms say about what the software does, what the licence covers and how support works is our responsibility. The free tier is provided by us directly, with no payment provider involved.

3. What Asoly does and where your data lives

Asoly tracks keyword rankings, discovers keyword opportunities, compares competitors and helps plan metadata for iOS apps on the Apple App Store.

• Local-first storage: your apps, keywords, markets, rankings, history and notes are stored in a local database on your Mac. We operate no server that holds them.
• No account: using Asoly requires no registration with us. Pro access is unlocked with a licence key, not a login.
• App Store data: the app queries public Apple App Store endpoints directly from your Mac. We do not host or proxy those requests.

4. Free tier and Asoly Pro

Free tier. Asoly can be used free of charge and without payment details for as long as you like, with these limits: 1 tracked app, up to 5 keywords, manual refresh only, and 7 days of ranking history. No alerts. This is the only way to use Asoly without entering payment details — there is no separate trial without a card.

Asoly Pro. The paid subscription removes those limits: unlimited apps and keywords, automatic daily background checks with catch-up after sleep, the full history, macOS notifications for ranking changes, and CSV export.

5. Prices, 14-day trial and automatic renewal

• Monthly: 9,99 € per month.
• Yearly: 89,00 € per year.

These are the reference prices in euro. The amount actually charged, in your currency and with the tax that applies where you are, is shown at checkout before you complete the purchase; Lemon Squeezy determines and collects that tax.

14-day trial. Both plans start with a 14-day free trial at checkout. You enter a payment method to start it, and nothing is charged during those 14 days. You receive your licence key straight away, so Asoly Pro works from the first day of the trial.

Automatic renewal. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts automatically into the paid plan you chose and the first payment is taken — 9,99 € per month or 89,00 € per year. The subscription then renews automatically for further periods of the same length until it is cancelled. You can cancel at any time (see section 7).

6. Right of withdrawal for consumers

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving reasons. Because Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record, that right is exercised against Lemon Squeezy. The withdrawal instructions and the model withdrawal form presented at checkout apply, and they take precedence over this summary.

When the right expires. Asoly Pro is digital content that is made available immediately: the licence key is issued at checkout, before the 14 days are over. Under § 356 (5) of the German Civil Code (BGB), the right of withdrawal for such digital content expires once performance has begun, provided you expressly consented to it beginning before the withdrawal period ends and confirmed that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal. If you did not give that consent at checkout, your right of withdrawal is unaffected.

In practice. The 14-day trial and the 14-day withdrawal period run largely in parallel. Cancelling during the trial ends the contract before any payment is taken, so in most cases there is nothing to withdraw from and nothing to refund.

7. Term and cancellation

The subscription runs for the period you chose — one month or one year — and renews for another period of the same length unless cancelled before the current one ends. There is no minimum term beyond the period you are in.

You cancel in the Lemon Squeezy customer portal, which you reach through getasoly.com/account. Asoly's own settings link to the same place. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: you keep Pro until then, and no further payment is taken. There are no pro-rated refunds for a period already started.

After a cancellation nothing is deleted. Asoly keeps working under the free tier limits, and everything you tracked stays in the local database on your Mac.

8. Refunds

Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Request one through the customer portal at getasoly.com/account, or write to info@baer-solutions.com and we will pass the request on. Your statutory rights, in particular the right of withdrawal in section 6 and your rights in case of defects, are unaffected by this.

9. Your licence

For the term of your subscription you receive a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Asoly, which you may not sub-licence. The software is licensed, not sold.

• One Mac: a licence key activates Asoly Pro on one Mac at a time, unless your order confirmation states a higher number. Activating a second Mac while the first one still holds the licence is refused.
• Moving to another Mac: the licence is not tied to one machine for good — it moves. "Deactivate this Mac" in Asoly's settings releases the licence, and you then activate the same key on the new Mac. Start the move on the Mac you are leaving, while you still have access to it.
• Personal to you: the key is issued to you. Passing it on, publishing it, reselling it or using it on more machines at once than your order allows is not permitted, and a key used that way can be disabled.
• Licence checks: Asoly checks the key with Lemon Squeezy from time to time. If your Mac is offline or the check fails for technical reasons, Pro keeps working for 30 days from the last successful check.

10. System requirements and updates

Asoly requires macOS 15.0 or later and an internet connection for App Store lookups and licence checks.

Updates are delivered directly from getasoly.com using Sparkle, not through the Mac App Store. The app checks for updates in the background, asks once whether it may install them automatically, and you can change that answer at any time. Every build is signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and notarised by Apple; the update feed is verified cryptographically before anything is installed.

11. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except where mandatory law allows it;
• circumvent the licence check or use Asoly without a valid licence beyond the free tier;
• drive the App Store endpoints with artificially high request volumes or use Asoly as a hosted scraping service for third parties;
• resell, rent out or sub-licence the software.

12. Availability and no ranking guarantee

Asoly is an analytical tool. The positions it shows are the public state of the Apple App Store search at the moment of measurement, and they fluctuate. We do not warrant or guarantee particular rankings, impressions, downloads or revenue. Apple's search algorithms are proprietary and can change at any time without notice.

We do not promise uninterrupted availability of this website, of the update feed or of the licence check, and we give no service level agreement. Asoly's core function depends on public Apple endpoints that are outside our control: if Apple changes, restricts or removes them, individual features may be limited or discontinued. We will say so openly if it happens. Your statutory rights in case of defects remain unaffected.

13. Limitation of liability

The Provider is liable without limitation for intent (Vorsatz), gross negligence (grobe Fahrlässigkeit), and damages resulting from injury to life, body or health under statutory law.

In cases of slight negligence (einfache Fahrlässigkeit), the Provider is liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations (Kardinalpflichten) — obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely — and in that case only for damages that are typical and foreseeable at the time the contract is concluded. The Provider is not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or data loss that ordinary local backups (for example Time Machine) would have prevented. Liability under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz) remains unaffected.

14. Intellectual property and privacy

All rights in Asoly, including its source code, trademarks, icons and the "Navy & Brass" design system, remain with Dennis Bär. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of them.

How personal data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy. Usage statistics in the app are off by default and are only collected if you switch them on.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may amend these Terms, for example when the software, the payment provider or the legal situation changes. For a running subscription we announce a change at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or in the app, and state what changes and when.

Changes that affect the balance of price and service — in particular price increases — apply to you only for periods that begin after the announcement, and only if you have not cancelled by then. If you do not want to accept a change, you can cancel the subscription to the end of the current billing period; until then it continues on the existing terms. The current version is always published at getasoly.com/terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

If you are a merchant within the meaning of the German Commercial Code (HGB), a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Darmstadt, Germany. For consumers, the mandatory consumer protection law of their country of residence remains unaffected. Should a provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the remaining provisions stay in force.
