A MacBook on a warm wooden desk in a quiet studio workspace
Asoly is a macOS menu bar app. It checks your keyword positions once a day from your own Mac, and keeps the history in a local database.

App Radar sells a web platform with seats, permissions and reporting for marketing teams. If you are one person with one or two apps, most of that is billed to you and never opened. Asoly takes the opposite approach: a Mac menu bar app, no account, no server, one subscription bought directly from getasoly.com. It does less on purpose. What it does do is tell you when a position actually moved, instead of waiting for you to log in.

Why Indie Founders Choose Asoly

Local-first

No account, no server

Asoly reads the public App Store search from your Mac. There is nothing to sign up for, no API key to paste, and your keywords never leave the machine.

macOS notifications

It tells you, you do not check

A macOS notification when a keyword crosses the top 10 or top 50, moves five places or more inside the top 50, drops out of the top 100, or ranks for the first time.

€9.99/mo

Priced for one developer

9.99 € a month, or 89 € a year — about 7.42 € a month. 14 days free at checkout, with a payment method on file. The free tier needs no card at all.

What you give up by choosing the small tool

Being honest about this is cheaper than a refund. Asoly has no search volume figures: Apple publishes none, so Asoly shows a popularity estimate derived from the order of Apple’s autocomplete suggestions and labels it as an estimate. App Radar buys and models that data.

Asoly also cannot track while your Mac is off. There is no server doing the work for you, which is exactly why there is no account and no monthly server cost baked into the price. When the Mac wakes, Asoly catches up, and the days it missed stay visible as gaps in the chart.

Editing your store metadata from inside the app, across localisations, is planned but not built. Today Asoly tells you where you stand; App Store Connect is still where you change your title and keyword field.

Why a menu bar app instead of a browser tab

A dashboard only helps on the days you remember to open it. Most indie developers check for a week after a release and then stop, which is the point at which the data would have become interesting.

Asoly inverts that. It runs in the menu bar, writes one measurement per keyword per day into a local database, and speaks up only when something crosses a threshold worth knowing about.

The effect is not more data. It is fewer decisions: you stop deciding every morning whether today is a day for checking rankings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use Asoly today?

Yes. Asoly is out and downloads directly from getasoly.com, not from the Mac App Store. The free tier needs no card and no account: one app, five keywords, a manual refresh and seven days of history, for as long as you want it. The Pro subscription — 9.99 €/month or 89 €/year, with 14 days free at checkout — is still being set up and cannot be bought yet. Everything described on this page is what the current build does.

Does Asoly need App Store Connect API keys?

No. Asoly reads the public App Store search results, the same ones any iPhone user sees, from your Mac. No API key, no certificate, no developer portal access.

What does the free tier include?

One app, five keywords, manual refresh and seven days of history, without notifications. Pro adds daily automatic tracking, notifications, the full history and CSV export.
